For many, office is one of the most stressful places. Stress because as an employee they are forced to stick to the deadline and targets, assigned to them. It is a commonly floating perception that the members of the upper management in a company enjoy a pleasant, lavish life, full of relaxing moments. This is a major reason why basic and mid level employees in a company do not like the management cadre, claiming it to be biased, and playing the chess of politics.

But, the fact is, the upper level employees, as chief executives face the most amount of stress because of their profile, and the business goals that have been put on their shoulders. They have larger (and sometimes improbable) targets, along with holding on to the discipline and other policies of the company. Even a small slip-up of an entry level employee can sometimes be sufficient for their class before the management of the company. How do they manage the level of stress, showered over them? Collected from the real life experiences of executive officers working in diverse organizations, following are a few quick stress-busting techniques that they follow –

Return to the art – Natural arts (for example, music and drawing) can immediately take anyone out from a stressful situation. If you are a CEO, who often goes through such moments, it is recommendable to forget everything for a few minutes. What you have to do is to close your eyes, while sitting in your easy chair, slowly sipping a cup of cappuccino, and listening to your favorite genre of music (prefer light music, it lightens the stress faster). Coffee is better and healthier at relieving you from stress than smoke. Alternatively, if not music, you can enjoy a cup of coffee while drawing something on a paper napkin.

Take a walk – But not smoke. Though most people find smoking is a great tension killer, but it does not actually kill the anxiety. When you feel the over pressure, it is the time to stop the work, for a little, and go for a walk. This walk could be aimed for washroom, may be for the upper floor in your office, or may be the next building.

Meditation – Yoga and meditation are two ancient ways of leading that help you manage and keep off any sort of stress. During the pressure hour, you cannot think positively and properly. Meditation lets you concentrate on your goals, and manage the resentment and disappointment. Yoga too improves your brain power. According to a research, conducted by the combined team of professors and scholars at the University of Israel, “A regular fifteen minute session of each yoga and meditation can help you deal with unbearable work pressure.” These two practices also bless you with a healthful lifestyle. There are several meditation gurus, who teach quick meditation techniques that help you relax and kill your sudden anxiety.

Apart from these, you should take your meals on time, and sleep routinely; though you do feel that this is not possible, but if you want to come out from the stress and think positively, you should!
